Troodos presidential residence to open for public event on September 6

For the third consecutive year, the presidential residence in Troodos will open its doors to the public on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Running from 11:00 to 18:00, the event, titled "Let’s Go Troodos 3," is an initiative of the First Lady, Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides. It is co-organized by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, and the Press and Information Office. The gathering will showcase local products, traditional crafts, and music, aimed at supporting small businesses and promoting sustainable development in Cyprus's mountain communities. Proceeds and donations from this year’s edition will benefit the Eleousa retirement home in Agros.

Originally constructed in the late 19th century during British colonial rule as a summer retreat for governors, the residence served as the colonial administration's seasonal headquarters. Following Cyprus's independence in 1960, the property transitioned into the official summer residence for the President of the Republic. The event seeks to provide citizens with access to this historically and symbolically significant building while celebrating the traditions and culture of the region.
