AEK Larnaca set to sign Romanian striker Atanas Trica
AEK Larnaca is in advanced negotiations to acquire 22-year-old Romanian forward Atanas Trica from Universitatea Cluj. Multiple reports confirm that the Larnaca-based club is looking to bolster its attacking line with a B-list player who meets the criteria set by sporting director Xavi Roca. If the deal is finalized, it will mark Trica's first stint playing outside his home country, having previously represented clubs including Universitatea Craiova and CSA Steaua Bucuresti.
The transfer structure, as reported by Romanian media, involves a fee of 50,000 euros paid to Universitatea Cluj, with the Romanian club retaining a 20% resale clause. Trica, who is the son of former Anorthosis Famagusta player Eugen Trica and grandson of Ilie Balaci, recorded three goals and two assists in 33 appearances for his current team last season. Current market valuations estimate his worth at approximately 450,000 euros.
Negotiations remain ongoing as both parties look to conclude the agreement. Should the transfer proceed, Trica is expected to travel to Cyprus to undergo medical evaluations and finalize his contract with the club.
