Cyprus meteorologists forecast temperature drop and rain for the weekend
The Department of Meteorology in Cyprus has announced that temperatures will reach 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday, August 13, potentially triggering a new yellow alert for extreme heat. Meteorologist Panagiotis Lingis stated that current data indicates this high-temperature warning may be issued as heat levels remain elevated.
However, a change in weather patterns is expected starting Friday, August 14. Weather instability will lead to isolated rainfall in mountainous areas and the interior, which will intensify slightly over the weekend. Temperatures are forecast to drop to approximately 38 degrees Celsius, returning to levels normal for this time of year. Although humidity levels have been elevated recently, the upcoming rainfall and storms are expected to be limited in both intensity and geographical scope. This shift marks a transition from the recent period of extreme heat to more seasonal conditions.
