Welfare benefit payment schedule and legislative increases for August 2026
The Welfare Benefit Management Service (YDEP) of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare has announced the payment schedule for August 2026. This period includes the implementation of legislative increases mandated by Law 96(I)/2026, concerning the social inclusion and independent living of persons with disabilities, and the amendment to the Minimum Guaranteed Income and General Social Benefits Law 99(I)/2026.
Beneficiaries will receive these increases automatically without the need for new applications or further administrative actions. To ensure transparency, the increases will be issued as separate payments, distinct from regular monthly benefits. The Minimum Guaranteed Income (EEE) is scheduled for disbursement on Friday, August 14, 2026. The Care Allowance and the specific increase payments for disability and care benefits are set to be processed on August 28, 2026. All payments will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts, with the exact timing of the credit potentially varying by financial institution.
Regarding retroactive payments, YDEP has indicated that these are expected to be disbursed within the final quarter of 2026. The service will provide timely updates to the public regarding the specific dates for those back payments.
