PAOK eliminated from Europa League by Anderlecht

PAOK Thessaloniki has been eliminated from the UEFA Europa League following a 3-2 defeat against Anderlecht in the return leg of the third qualifying round held on August 13 at Lotto Park in Brussels. Having lost the home leg 1-0 in Thessaloniki, the Greek side suffered a 4-2 aggregate defeat. Despite initial concerns regarding the availability of star player Giannis Konstantelias, who missed the team's initial travel due to personal matters, he managed to join the squad and started in the match. Anderlecht secured their progression with goals from Leo Petro, Lukas Ambros, and Danylo Sikan, while Andrija Zivkovic scored for PAOK.

Following this outcome, PAOK will continue their European campaign in the UEFA Conference League playoffs. The Greek club is scheduled to face the Norwegian team Brann to compete for a spot in the competition's League Phase. The first leg will take place on August 20 in Thessaloniki, with the return match following on August 27 in Norway. Should they fail to overcome Brann, PAOK will be eliminated from European competition for the remainder of the season.
