Minor turns himself in following Larnaca stadium violence investigation

A 16-year-old boy has voluntarily surrendered to the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) in connection with violent incidents that occurred at the AEK Arena. The investigation relates to clashes that took place during a football match between AEK Larnaca and Beitar Jerusalem on July 23, 2026.

The police had previously released photographs of several wanted individuals on July 28, 2026, seeking public assistance in identifying those involved in the stadium disturbances. The 16-year-old was among those whose identity was initially unknown to authorities. Upon his voluntary presentation at the Larnaca police station, the minor underwent questioning regarding his involvement in the events.

Following the completion of the police procedures and interrogation, the teenager was released. Authorities have confirmed that the publication of his photograph is no longer necessary as he has been located. The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department continues to oversee the ongoing investigation into the overall incidents at the stadium.
