Man kills family and himself in Winfield, Kansas
On the morning of Tuesday, August 12, 2026, 53-year-old Ronald Williams shot and killed his 44-year-old wife, Kelly George, and their four minor children in Winfield, Kansas. Following the killings, Williams took his own life. The tragedy occurred after reports of aggressive behavior involving the perpetrator had previously been documented.
Police were alerted to the situation at 8:50 a.m. when Williams called to confess to the murders and declare his intention to end his life. Upon arrival, officers heard a gunshot and initiated a hostage standoff protocol, establishing a perimeter around the residence. Roughly two hours later, a SWAT team breached the home and discovered the bodies of all six family members, including 9-year-old Carol Williams and her 7-year-old sibling.
