Israeli settlers besiege Palestinian families in West Bank village of Qusra

Since the weekend, groups of Israeli settlers have besieged Palestinian homes in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. The settlers blocked access to the residences, set up a tent in the vicinity, and obstructed the delivery of food, water, and medical supplies to the affected families. One of the residents, Qusai Abu Rida, reported that the blockade has persisted despite initial military intervention.

While the Israeli military briefly arrived at the scene to dismantle the tent, witnesses stated that troops eventually withdrew while settlers remained in the area. The mayor of Qusra, Abed Al-Atem Wadi, noted that Israeli soldiers later occupied several homes in the village, confining residents. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, usually a proponent of the settlements, strongly condemned the siege as an act of terrorism, noting that the incident involves a Palestinian family with US citizenship.

Local residents indicated that the military operations in Qusra are expected to continue until Sunday. The blockade is viewed by Palestinians as a deliberate effort to force their displacement from the land. Tensions remain high as the military maintains a presence in the village to manage the situation following international pressure.
