Burgas announced as the host city for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in 2027

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) have officially confirmed that the city of Burgas, Bulgaria, will host the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. The competition is scheduled to take place at the modern Arena Burgas, a multi-purpose venue inaugurated in 2023, with the two semi-finals occurring on May 11 and 13, followed by the grand final on May 15, 2027.

While Sofia was initially considered the frontrunner for the hosting rights, Burgas emerged as the unexpected selection following a competitive evaluation process. Local authorities and airport management have already initiated operational preparations, including discussions to increase flight capacity to accommodate the influx of international visitors. The choice of the coastal city on the Black Sea marks a significant development for the region, leveraging the city's new infrastructure to support a global musical event.
