Municipality of Ierokipia continues infrastructure upgrades

The Municipality of Ierokipia, led by Mayor Nikos Palios, has confirmed that municipal services continue to operate throughout August to implement planned infrastructure and public space projects. The local administration is focusing on enhancing everyday life through strategic urban interventions.

A key component of these efforts includes road safety and functionality improvements on sections of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and Anthypolochagos Georgiou M. Savva Street. On June 11, 2026, Mayor Nikos Palios signed an agreement with Kostas Kakais, representing the construction firm Kakais Constructions Ltd, to undertake these works. The project is valued at 100,593 euros plus VAT.

The intervention plan was developed by the Municipality of Ierokipia and received formal approval from the Technical Committee of the Central Body for Resolving Traffic Problems, which operates under the Department of Public Works. These works represent part of a broader commitment to improving the road network within the district, with the municipality maintaining its full operational schedule despite the summer period.
