Changes in the DISY municipal group in Paphos
As of mid-August 2026, the composition of the Democratic Rally (DISY) municipal group in Paphos has changed following the voluntary resignation of municipal councilor Kostas Zambyrinis. Zambyrinis stepped down after serving for two years, citing professional reasons related to his appointment as a mathematics teacher in secondary education.
Christiana Tsiakkaria, who was the first runner-up on the DISY party list during the previous municipal elections, has officially assumed the vacant seat. In her public statement, Tsiakkaria expressed her gratitude toward Zambyrinis for his contributions over the past two years and pledged to serve the municipality with dedication and responsibility. She emphasized her intent to advocate for the needs of the Paphos residents and to maintain a focus on cooperation and public service.
The transition of power took place effective August 13, 2026. Tsiakkaria has already formally taken on her new duties, marking a new chapter for the local party representation in the Paphos municipal council.
