Personnel change in Paphos municipal council
A personnel change has taken place within the Democratic Rally (DISY) municipal group in Paphos, Cyprus, as of mid-August 2026. Municipal councilor Kostas Zambyrinis has voluntarily resigned from his position after serving for two years. According to reports, his departure follows his appointment to a teaching position as a mathematician in secondary education.
Christiana Tsiakkaria, the first runner-up from the DISY party list during the last municipal elections, has officially assumed the vacant seat. In a written statement, Tsiakkaria expressed her sense of responsibility and honor regarding the new role. She acknowledged Zambyrinis’s contributions to the municipality over the past two years and pledged to work toward the interests of the city and its citizens, focusing on cooperation and public service as she begins this new chapter in the municipal council.
