Ferry services disrupted in Greece due to gale-force winds

Thousands of vacationers traveling for the August 15th holiday in Greece are facing significant travel disruptions due to gale-force winds across the Aegean Sea. Port authorities have issued a sailing ban for the ports of Rafina and Lavrio, with the sole exception of routes serving Marmari. Meanwhile, operations at the Port of Piraeus continue with modifications, except for the Blue Star Paros, which has been grounded, preventing travel to Syros, Tinos, and Mykonos.

While most routes from Piraeus are operating under a modified schedule that may involve skipped stops or changes to the order of arrival, ferries to the Argosaronic Gulf are running normally. Authorities remain on high alert and strongly advise all passengers to verify their travel status with local port offices or maritime operators before arriving at the docks, as weather conditions are expected to remain volatile.
