Cyprus expands Tax For All system and reviews historical income tax thresholds

The Tax Department of Cyprus is enhancing its integrated digital platform, 'Tax For All' (TFA), which serves citizens, businesses, and internal personnel. Starting in early 2027, the system will incorporate all direct taxation processes, including personal and corporate income tax, special defense contributions, capital gains tax, and property tax. This move aims to simplify compliance and improve efficiency through a unified digital environment.

Simultaneously, historical data highlights the evolution of the tax-free income threshold in Cyprus. Over the past 35 years, the threshold has grown nearly tenfold, rising from approximately €3,417 (2,000 Cypriot pounds) in 1991 to €22,000 in 2026. Data analysis indicates that tax brackets have been adjusted nine times since 1991 to reflect changes in economic conditions, the cost of money, and national strategy, which previously focused on attracting foreign investment. Future updates to the TFA system are expected to finalize these direct tax transitions by the target date in 2027.
