Houthi militants launch multiple attacks against Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Mocha port

On August 14 and 15, 2026, Houthi rebels carried out a series of attacks against facilities in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Initially, the group announced a drone strike targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in Najran, southwestern Saudi Arabia, claiming it was in retaliation for alleged Saudi airspace violations. Saudi authorities have not confirmed this incident, and no damage to the facility has been verified.

Following the drone strike, the Houthis launched a significant assault on the port of Mocha, Yemen, which is held by the internationally recognized government supported by Saudi Arabia. A local military official reported that at least six people were killed after five missiles struck commercial ships during unloading, causing two vessels to catch fire. While the Houthis acknowledged the operation, they characterized it as a strike against military infrastructure and 'mercenaries' belonging to Saudi-backed forces, claiming the destruction of various weapons and marine vessels.
