Giannis Konstantelias completes transfer from PAOK to Borussia Dortmund
Greek midfielder Giannis Konstantelias has officially joined Borussia Dortmund from PAOK Thessaloniki, signing a contract valid until June 2031. The 23-year-old talent traveled to Germany on August 16, 2026, to undergo medical examinations and finalize the terms of his move. While initial reports varied, the agreement is valued at 28 million euros in guaranteed fees plus 2 million euros in potential performance-based bonuses, with PAOK retaining a 17.5% resale percentage.
The transfer was met with significant frustration from PAOK supporters, who staged symbolic protests at the club's offices in Toumba. Konstantelias, who departs after 190 appearances, 44 goals, and 26 assists for the Greek side, stated that the decision was straightforward, aided by positive testimonials from his compatriot and new teammate, Konstantinos Karetsas. The player has already been officially welcomed by the German club and is expected to integrate into their squad immediately to begin his Bundesliga career.
