Cyprus secures 19th place at FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division B

The Cyprus national U16 basketball team concluded its participation in the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026, Division B, with a 79-60 victory against Norway. The match, which determined the 19th and 20th place rankings, took place at the NB Noel Sports Hall in Gevgelija, North Macedonia, on August 15, 2026. This result successfully secured Cyprus's continued stay in the tournament's Division B.

Although Norway initially led 12-5, Cyprus responded with a 15-4 run to finish the first quarter ahead 27-19. The team continued its momentum into the second quarter, entering halftime with a 50-33 lead. Despite a marginal effort from Norway in the third period, which they won 15-14, Cyprus maintained control, winning the final quarter 15-12. Cyprus held the lead for over 32 minutes and reached a maximum advantage of 26 points, including a significant 18-0 scoring run.
