Nicosia police issue appeals for two missing persons
Nicosia police have issued public appeals for information regarding two separate missing persons cases reported in the city. The first involves 15-year-old Sotiroula Oikonomidou, who has been missing from her residence in Aglantzia since August 16, 2026. She is described as being 1.65 meters tall with a slender build, long black hair, and black eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing dark long trousers, a short blue shirt, and a black cardigan.
The second case concerns 40-year-old Romanian national Iulian Mircea Stoebac, who went missing from his home in the Palouriotissa area. Although his disappearance was officially reported on August 16, 2026, he has not been seen since August 8, 2026. He is described as 1.65 meters tall, with a slender build and curly brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue swim shorts, a dark blue cardigan, and slippers.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of either individual to contact the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 22-802222, the nearest police station, or the Citizen’s Line at 1460. Search operations remain active as police continue to seek public assistance to ensure their safe return.
