Goalkeeper transfer movements involving Zion Suzuki and Juventus
Aston Villa has reached an agreement with Parma to sign 23-year-old goalkeeper Zion Suzuki for a fee of 30 million euros, which could rise to 35 million euros with performance-based bonuses. The Japanese international has reportedly agreed to a five-year contract with the Premier League side, following a failed transfer attempt by Paris Saint-Germain due to last-minute demands from the player's representatives.
Simultaneously, Juventus has officially withdrawn from negotiations to sign Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez. Although the Italian club initially sought a deal for the 33-year-old, they deemed Aston Villa's financial requirements excessive and have redirected their focus toward securing Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham. Martinez, who joined Aston Villa in 2020 and helped the club win the 2025 Europa League, remains at his current club as Juventus shifts its recruitment strategy toward the 29-year-old Italian goalkeeper.
