AEK Athens completes the signing of Kervin Arriaga from Levante

AEK Athens has officially finalized the transfer of 28-year-old Honduran international Kervin Arriaga from the Spanish club Levante. The deal, valued at approximately 3 million euros, was completed on Monday, August 17, 2026, after the player underwent medical and ergometric examinations in Athens. Arriaga has signed a contract spanning four years, keeping him with the club until the summer of 2030, and will wear the number 16 jersey.

The acquisition serves to bolster AEK’s midfield and defensive depth. Head coach Marko Nikolic and sporting director Javier Ribalta targeted Arriaga for his versatility, as he primarily functions as a defensive midfielder but is also capable of playing as a central defender. Standing 1.91 meters tall, the player brings significant physical presence to a squad that already includes Vitalis, Mayer, Kairinen, Marin, and Mantalos in the midfield, alongside defensive options like Moukoudi and Rivas.

Following his move to Greece, Arriaga represents the sixth summer signing for AEK. The club has secured the right to register him on their European squad list for the upcoming matches against Levski Sofia, as regulations permit two changes to the roster. Arriaga has already completed his official presentation at Nea Filadelfeia and is expected to integrate into training sessions immediately to prepare for his debut.
