AEK Athens in advanced talks to sign Kervin Arriaga from Levante

AEK Athens is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire 28-year-old Honduran midfielder Kervin Arriaga from the Spanish club Levante. The team’s management, including Marko Nikolic and Javier Ribalta, aims to strengthen their midfield with an athletic presence while simultaneously securing additional defensive depth. Arriaga, who stands 1.91 meters tall, is primarily a defensive midfielder with 72 appearances in that role but has also played as a right center-back in 23 professional matches.

During the previous season, Arriaga recorded 27 appearances, 3 goals, and 3 assists in La Liga. The player has accumulated significant international experience with 42 caps and 4 goals for the Honduras national team. His career began in his home country before moving to MLS side Minnesota United in 2022, where he registered 65 appearances and 6 goals. In 2024, he was transferred to Partizan for 500,000 euros before eventually moving to Spain.

AEK currently relies on a midfield rotation including Vitalis, Mayer, Cairinen, Marin, and Mantalos, while their defensive core features Moukoudi, Relvas, and Vida, alongside younger players Georgiev and Alexiou. The addition of Arriaga is intended to provide a versatile solution capable of covering both the defensive midfield and center-back positions to enhance the squad's tactical flexibility.
