Paphos reports tourism recovery following regional instability

Tourism in the Paphos region of Cyprus has stabilized over the last few weeks, overcoming concerns regarding the impact of regional conflicts experienced during the spring and early summer. Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou stated that the city has successfully implemented an extensive beautification campaign over the past two months. Key locations, including the harbor, the pier, and Agiou Antoniou Street, have undergone significant upgrades to improve their functional and aesthetic appeal for international visitors.

While tourism officials are satisfied with the performance through August, they are now shifting focus toward the autumn months and the period leading up to the Christmas season. Domestic tourism provided a vital boost to the local industry during the summer, but stakeholders are concerned about maintaining occupancy levels as that support wanes. The industry is currently aiming to extend the peak season through October to ensure continuous tourist flow. Despite initial challenges caused by the conflict in the Middle East, the city maintains that it is prepared for the coming months and continues to prioritize its reputation as a premier destination.
