Cypriot company SignalGeneriX produces advanced RFHunter defense system
Cypriot technology firm SignalGeneriX, based in Limassol, has gained international recognition for the development and production of its RFHunter® defense system. With a history spanning two decades in the sector, the company utilizes a team of 40 specialized scientists and engineers to oversee the full production lifecycle, from domestic electronics manufacturing to rigorous quality control, before exporting the units for use by foreign armed forces.
The RFHunter® system is designed to address critical battlefield challenges by providing precise geolocation of opposing forces. The technology operates on the principle that any radio emission, no matter how brief, can be intercepted and traced. This allows operators to pinpoint targets even when they are positioned behind fortifications, inside buildings, or under various types of cover, regardless of the time of day.
During a recent facility tour led by CEO Tasos Kounoudis, the company highlighted that the equipment is already in operational use by multiple advanced international militaries. The successful deployment of this homegrown technology marks a significant milestone for the Cypriot defense industry, demonstrating the capability to innovate and manufacture high-stakes military hardware locally.
