Demolition of abandoned building in Limassol to cause temporary traffic disruptions

The Limassol Municipality has announced the ongoing demolition of an abandoned building located at the junction of Omonia Avenue and Vasileos Pavlou Street. The operation commenced on August 17 and is scheduled to conclude on August 20, 2026.

To ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists during this period, the descent of Omonia Avenue, beginning at its intersection with Vasileos Pavlou Street, will remain closed daily from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Local authorities have confirmed that appropriate traffic diversion signage will be installed at the site to guide commuters throughout the duration of the works. The municipality has formally requested the public's cooperation and understanding regarding the necessary temporary inconvenience caused by these safety-related measures.
