Strovolos municipality donates festival proceeds to charity
The Municipality of Strovolos in Cyprus has officially announced the donation of over €6,000 in proceeds collected from three theatrical performances held during the 10th Municipal Theatre Festival. The funds were distributed among several charitable organizations to support their ongoing operations and social initiatives.
Specifically, €671.43 was donated to the 'Yparho' Center for Education and Rehabilitation following the performance of 'Keffiyeh Made in China' on May 13, 2026. The performance of 'Ektos Elenchou' on May 26, 2026, generated €3,147.62 for the Nicholas Zoe Foundation, while the play 'O anthropos pou espase ton kodika' on June 13, 2026, provided €3,038.10 to the Pancyprian Association 'Ena Oneiro Mia Efchi'.
The municipal authorities expressed their gratitude to both the artistic groups for their participation and the theater-going public whose attendance made these contributions possible. This initiative is part of a long-standing practice by the Strovolos municipality to channel ticket proceeds from cultural events toward philanthropic causes, reinforcing the link between local arts and community welfare.
