Olympiakos Nicosia nears signing of Estonian striker Rauno Sappinen

Olympiakos Nicosia is in advanced negotiations to sign 30-year-old Estonian international striker Rauno Sappinen. The player has reportedly given his consent to the transfer, with the club currently working to reach a final agreement with his current team, Flora Tallinn, before his contract expires at the end of the year.

Sappinen, the all-time leading scorer for Flora Tallinn with over 200 career goals, brings significant experience from leagues in Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Poland, and Israel. Throughout his career, he has been named the best player in the Estonian championship three times. This season, he has recorded 10 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions. Notably, he has a history of scoring against Cypriot teams, including five goals against club sides and three goals against the Cyprus national team in various European and international fixtures.

The transfer remains pending the final resolution between Olympiakos and Flora Tallinn. Once finalized, the move is expected to significantly bolster the offensive capabilities of the Nicosia-based team.
