Peter Olayinka joins Al-Wehda FC after leaving APOEL
Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has officially moved to Saudi Arabian club Al-Wehda, marking the end of his tenure with the Cypriot side APOEL. The 30-year-old player, who had previously been released from his contract with Red Star Belgrade before joining the Nicosia-based team, signed with the Mecca-based club following the conclusion of his brief stint in Cyprus.
During his time at APOEL in the second half of the 2025-2026 season, Olayinka participated in 16 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals. He is particularly remembered by APOEL supporters for his decisive goal in the derby against Omonia, which secured a 1-0 victory for his team. His departure from the 'Archangelos' training center was confirmed by mid-August 2026 as the player completed his transition to the Saudi league.
While local sports reports initially indicated the deal was in its final stages on August 15, the transfer was officially confirmed by August 17, 2026. The move represents the next step in his professional career as he seeks new opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
