Cyprus and France elevate relations to strategic partnership

On August 18, 2026, the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus announced that diplomatic relations with France have reached their highest level in history, transitioning into a formal strategic partnership. These engagements included a meeting held in Cyprus in June 2026 and a previous summit in Paris in December 2025.
