Cyprus student grant application processing underway

The evaluation of student grant applications for the 2025-2026 academic year in Cyprus is currently underway, with completion expected by the end of September 2026. According to Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos, who addressed an inquiry from DISY Larnaca MP Prodromos Alabritis, the process officially began in late June 2026 following delays caused by pending legislative changes in the Parliament. By the time the final application deadline closed on July 9, following several extensions, approximately 17,000 applications had been submitted.

As of mid-August 2026, authorities have processed approximately 30% of the total applications. The Ministry of Finance noted that the final number of beneficiaries remains undetermined, as individual eligibility depends on the accuracy and completeness of the submitted data. To accelerate the workflow, the Ministry has authorized overtime hours for the responsible department. The ongoing verification procedure represents the final stage before the disbursement of financial support to students.
