APOEL club notifies company of intent to end automatic management renewal

The APOEL Athletic Club officially notified its management company on August 17, 2026, that it will not proceed with the automatic five-year renewal of the football department's management agreement. This decision follows a vote by club members during a recent General Assembly and aims to prevent the current contract from extending automatically upon its expiration in May 2027.

This move does not constitute an immediate termination of the contract or a change in status, as the company will continue to manage the football operations until the existing agreement concludes in May 2027. Instead, by removing the automatic renewal clause, the club has created the necessary space to renegotiate the terms of future management. The development is particularly significant due to ongoing discussions with a group led by Cypriot businessman Savvas Liasis, which had reached an agreement in principle as early as May 2026.

Currently, Kyriakos Zivanaris is overseeing the club's administrative direction, awaiting further progress in the negotiations with the Liasis investment group.
