Five food delivery riders injured in violent clash in Paphos

On the night of Tuesday, August 18, 2026, a violent confrontation occurred in the Mouttalos area of Paphos, resulting in injuries to five food delivery riders. The incident began around 8:40 p.m. when a 26-year-old delivery driver was attacked by a group of four men after they refused to pay for a food order. The attackers reportedly threw a stone at the driver and stole his cash and mobile phone.

Following the initial assault, the delivery driver contacted his colleagues, leading to a larger brawl. Approximately ten additional unidentified men arrived at the scene, some armed with metal objects, and proceeded to attack the delivery workers and damage several motorcycles. Police confirm that five delivery riders were transported to the hospital, with one individual remaining under medical care.

The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation into multiple charges, including robbery, causing actual bodily harm, riot, and possession of offensive weapons. Authorities are currently reviewing video evidence of the incident as they work to identify the suspects involved in the assault and property destruction.
