Cultural events and outdoor film screenings across Cyprus
The 27th Summer Film Marathon continues at the Constantia open-air cinema in Nicosia. On August 19, the program featured the Indian drama 'Girls Will Be Girls,' while on August 20, the screening schedule moved to Fatih Akin's historical drama 'The Cut,' which depicts the journey of a blacksmith searching for his daughters during the 1915 Armenian genocide. The Nicosia film series is scheduled to run through September 13, with screenings taking place every Wednesday through Sunday.
In addition to the Nicosia film marathon, cultural activities have expanded across the island. On August 19, Moniatis hosted the shadow theater performance 'A Suitcase Cyprus,' which explores local traditions. Furthermore, from August 20 to 23, the Ayia Napa Marina is hosting family-oriented outdoor film screenings, including 'The Little Mermaid' and 'Grease.' Various art exhibitions are also currently on display, such as Christina Siakola's installation 'Things I Forget' in Nicosia, running until August 25, and a collective exhibition titled 'Code Reconstruction' available until September 12.
