AEK Larnaca faces managerial uncertainty ahead of season start
AEK Larnaca is currently searching for a new head coach less than two weeks before the start of the championship and their opening match against APOEL. The departure of Mauro Camoranesi has left the club in a critical transition period, with sporting director Xavi Roca now under significant pressure to find a successor before the season kicks off.
Simultaneously, the club is undergoing major roster adjustments. Recent arrivals include Sven Kohler and 32-year-old Spanish left-back Brian Oliván, formerly of Barcelona’s youth academy and clubs such as Mallorca and Espanyol. Conversely, Dani Enrique and Jairo Izquierdo have been transferred to Omonia Aradippou, and further departures are expected, with Yahav Gurfinkel and Waldo Rubio potentially on the list of exits. The current A-list roster includes 19 players, while 22-year-old Atanas Tricka is also set to be registered. The club's focus remains on balancing the squad while urgently addressing the vacancy in the technical leadership.
