Bolivian presidential adviser arrested for attempted femicide
Fernando Cerimedo, an Argentine political consultant and key adviser to Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz, was arrested on Tuesday at the Santa Cruz airport in Bolivia. Authorities took him into custody as he was reportedly attempting to board a flight to Buenos Aires. The arrest follows an investigation into the attempted femicide of a female attorney, with whom Cerimedo had been in a relationship.
The victim, Nadia Beyer, was targeted on Monday evening in front of a hotel in Santa Cruz. According to reports, the attack was carried out by two individuals disguised as food delivery workers wearing motorcycle helmets. Cerimedo, a prominent consultant known for his work on conservative political campaigns across Latin America, including those of Javier Milei in Argentina and Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, has served President Paz since his inauguration in November 2025. The public prosecutor’s office has formally requested his pre-trial detention as the investigation continues.
