Delivery workers attacked in Paphos

On the evening of August 18, 2026, a series of violent incidents occurred in Paphos, Cyprus, involving food delivery workers. The conflict began around 20:40 in the Moutallos area when a 26-year-old courier was attacked by a customer and his associates after they refused to pay for an order and threw a stone at him. Following a call for assistance, approximately ten additional delivery riders arrived at the scene. They were subsequently confronted by a group of assailants armed with metal objects, who assaulted them and caused damage to several motorcycles.

Following the initial clash, four perpetrators fled the scene in a vehicle, subsequently targeting a 22-year-old delivery worker who had just completed a delivery. The assailants robbed him, stealing cash and his mobile phone. While sources differ on the total number of victims—with one report stating five and another indicating seven—five individuals were eventually transported to Paphos General Hospital. Four victims were released after receiving medical treatment, while one remains hospitalized. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of both assaults to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
