Philadelphia police search for man in Chucky mask after string of attacks

Philadelphia authorities are currently searching for an unidentified male suspect who has been terrorizing residents near City Hall while wearing a mask resembling the "Chucky" doll from the horror franchise. The suspect has been linked to at least six incidents of harassment and threats reported over the past week. Police have released surveillance footage and photos to the public, seeking assistance in identifying the individual.

The most severe incident occurred on Wednesday, August 12, at approximately 05:30 near 1500 John F. Kennedy Boulevard. A 40-year-old woman jogging in the area was pursued by the masked man, who repeatedly asked her, "Are you ready to die?" while holding a phone with its light turned on. Startled by the confrontation, the victim tripped and sustained injuries before the suspect fled toward a nearby subway station. According to Police Chief Jason Smith, the suspect is believed to be recording these encounters and faces potential charges, including terroristic threats and simple assault.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to process the evidence and follow up on leads provided by citizens. Residents are urged to report any sightings of the individual to the local police department immediately as the search continues.
