Traffic adjustments in Larnaca due to EAC infrastructure works

Starting Monday, August 24, 2026, the Municipality of Larnaca will implement traffic restrictions at two locations due to upgrade works on the 132kV transmission network by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). These works are part of the "Pyla GIS to Larnaca City Center" substation interconnection project (EAC 202/2024).

On Ammochostou Avenue, which connects Larnaca to Dekelia, a contraflow system with lane restrictions will be in effect from August 24 through November 13, 2026. Simultaneously, Luther King Street will be converted into a one-way road between Spyrou Kyprianou and Psiloriti streets from August 24 to September 11, 2026. During this period, traffic on Luther King Street will be permitted only in the northbound direction, while southbound vehicles will be diverted according to official municipal plans.

The Municipality of Larnaca has issued an apology for the temporary inconvenience caused by these essential utility upgrades and has requested public cooperation during the construction period.
