Upcoming road works and traffic adjustments in Larnaca

Multiple road construction and maintenance projects are set to affect traffic in Larnaca starting Monday, August 24, 2026. The most significant adjustments involve the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) project to connect the Pyla GIS and Larnaca City Center substations (EAC 202/2024). Consequently, Amochostou Avenue will implement contraflow and lane restrictions until November 13, 2026. Additionally, Luther King Street will be converted to a one-way road for northbound traffic between Spyrou Kyprianou and Psiloreiti streets from August 24 to September 11, 2026.

Separately, the Public Works Department has announced construction of pavements and a pedestrian crossing on Nikos Pattichis Avenue, which will lead to the closure of the left lane heading toward the Kamares roundabout from August 24 to August 28. Motorists are advised to follow temporary signage and police instructions. Furthermore, ongoing maintenance, including forestry watering and safety checks, will occur on several highways, such as the Larnaca-Paralimni route, where emergency door inspections are scheduled during daylight hours through August 28. Authorities have apologized for the temporary inconvenience and thanked the public for their cooperation.
