Olympiacos completes the transfer of Armando Gonzalez and parts ways with Mehdi Taremi
Olympiacos has officially signed 23-year-old Mexican striker Armando Gonzalez from Chivas Guadalajara. The deal is valued at 8.5 million euros, with an additional 2 million euros in bonuses and a 20 percent resale clause. Gonzalez, who arrived in Greece on August 21, has signed a contract, reported by some sources as a 4+1 year agreement, to bolster the team's attacking options for the upcoming season.
Simultaneously, the club has confirmed the departure of Iranian forward Mehdi Taremi, who was not included in the European squad list. Following his exit, Taremi is set to join the Dubai-based club Al Wasl. Furthermore, the club has offloaded defender Pablo Maffeo on loan to Valencia, with an option to purchase. Olympiacos management remains active in the transfer market, currently exploring options for a new right-back, with Joakim Maehle identified as a primary target, alongside other potential midfield reinforcements.
