Yahav Gurfinkel nears exit from AEK Larnaca

AEK Larnaca defender Yahav Gurfinkel is on the verge of departing the club as negotiations for his transfer to Hapoel Tel Aviv reach an advanced stage. The 28-year-old Israeli, who joined the Cypriot side in January 2026 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, has been identified as a player outside the technical staff's plans following the recent signing of Brian Olivan. The increased competition at the left-back position has solidified the decision to facilitate his exit.

Gurfinkel previously struggled to secure a starting role, notably failing to impress during the European qualification matches against Beitar Jerusalem. Hapoel Tel Aviv has actively pursued the player throughout the summer, with previous discussions involving a potential two or three-year contract valued at approximately 200,000 euros. While Gurfinkel initially sought to remain in Cyprus to fight for his position, the club is now finalizing the logistical details of his departure to facilitate his return to Israel. Both parties are reportedly close to reaching a formal agreement.
