Nea Salamina reaches agreement with midfielder Brahim Konaté
Cypriot football club Nea Salamina announced an agreement in principle with 30-year-old French midfielder Brahim Konaté on August 19, 2026. The player is expected to arrive in Cyprus in the coming days to undergo mandatory medical examinations before finalizing the contract.
The proposed deal is for a one-year term with an option for an additional year. Konaté, born in 1996 in Montfermeil, is a product of the AJ Auxerre academy and possesses extensive experience from Ligue 2 in France. Before this transfer, he played for Zira FC in Azerbaijan, where he recorded four appearances during the current season’s European qualifiers. Throughout his career, he has represented various clubs including Chamois Niortais, Fuenlabrada, Majadahonda, Kauno Zalgiris, Hapoel Afula, and Shamakhi.
Following the successful completion of medical tests and standard administrative procedures, the midfielder will officially join the Nea Salamina squad to strengthen their central midfield department for the remainder of the season.
