Eurobank and National Bank of Greece continue share buyback programs
Eurobank and the National Bank of Greece have disclosed recent progress regarding their ongoing share buyback programs conducted on the Euronext Athens stock exchange. Eurobank repurchased 1,245,703 shares between August 10 and August 14, 2026, at an average price of €4.4941, totaling €5,598,354.27. These transactions were executed via Eurobank Equities following approvals from the shareholders' meeting on April 28 and the board on April 29, 2026, formally launched on June 10, 2026.
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Greece acquired 727,285 shares between August 10 and August 17, 2026, at an average price of €16.3083, amounting to €11,860,757.13. This initiative was authorized by the ECB’s Single Supervisory Mechanism on June 8, 2026, and follows shareholders' decisions from April 30, 2026. The bank now holds 24,601,002 treasury shares, representing 2.69 per cent of its total share capital.
Both financial institutions established their buyback schemes earlier this year, building on previous disclosures. The National Bank of Greece has confirmed its intention to proceed with the cancellation of its acquired treasury shares as authorized by its shareholders.
