Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to return to the UK
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to relocate from the United States back to the United Kingdom later in August 2026. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to settle in a private, non-royal residence located outside of London. Despite this move, there are currently no plans for the couple to return to official royal duties. Their children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, have been enrolled in a British school and are expected to begin classes in September.
This decision marks a significant shift, occurring over four years after the couple stepped back from senior royal roles in early 2020. The move was reportedly influenced by a family visit to the UK last July, which served as a turning point. During this trip, the family spent time with King Charles at Highgrove and met with relatives from Princess Diana’s side. While the reunion with the King has been described as positive, reports suggest that tensions remain between Prince Harry and Prince William. This return follows the couple's relocation to the United States six years ago, effectively ending their time as working members of the core monarchy.
