Andrija Zivkovic receives two-match ban from UEFA
UEFA has officially suspended PAOK captain Andrija Zivkovic for two matches following his red card in the Europa League third qualifying round second-leg match against Anderlecht in Brussels. The incident occurred in the 89th minute, when Zivkovic was sent off for pushing opponent Biancon during a heated moment on the pitch. While leaving the field, he was seen kissing the club badge in front of the Belgian home fans.
As a consequence of the two-match ban, coach Alessio Lisci will be without his captain for the upcoming Conference League tie against Brann. Zivkovic will miss the first leg scheduled for Thursday, August 20, at Toumba Stadium, as well as the return leg in Norway the following week. The Greek side, having moved to the Conference League after their elimination from the Europa League competition, must now adjust their tactical approach for these critical fixtures without their leader.
