Three arrested following Larnaca drug operation and police chase

On Wednesday evening in Larnaca, Cyprus, an anti-drug operation conducted by the YKAN unit resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of approximately one kilogram of cannabis. The operation involved a search of a 32-year-old suspect's home, where officers discovered a 23-year-old relative in possession of €13,250 in cash, four firecrackers, and two flares. The 32-year-old homeowner was not present, and he declined a police request to return to the scene.

Simultaneously, while officers were searching a field owned by the 32-year-old, a 31-year-old man driving a car refused to stop when signaled by police. The driver attempted to flee, colliding with three police vehicles before being apprehended. During the incident, one YKAN officer sustained a minor hand injury and was treated at Larnaca General Hospital before being discharged. Authorities confirmed that approximately one kilogram of cannabis, found hidden in a cool box, was seized as part of the evidence. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
