Traffic lights malfunction at Enaerios junction in Limassol
Traffic lights at the intersection of Limassol's coastal road and Makariou III Avenue, widely known as the Enaerios junction, have been taken out of service due to a technical fault. Authorities expect the repairs to be completed by Monday, August 24, 2026. While the traffic signals are non-functional, temporary road signage has been installed at the site to guide motorists, and authorities are urging drivers to strictly adhere to these temporary instructions to ensure safety.
The photo-enforcement camera system installed at this specific junction remains operational during the repair period. However, the system is currently configured to record only speed-related violations. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the area while the traffic management system is under maintenance.
Note: While most sources focused on the Limassol location, one report mentions a similar technical issue affecting traffic lights at the junction of October 28 Avenue and Makarios III Avenue in Nicosia, which is also expected to be resolved by August 24, 2026. The Public Works Department has issued an apology for any inconvenience caused by these technical issues.
