Vehicle fire in Moni causes property damage
A vehicle parked in the village of Moni, located in the Limassol district, was destroyed by a fire on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The blaze, which occurred outside a private residence, also spread to the exterior entrance door of the nearby house due to the intensity of the heat.
The Cyprus Fire Service reported receiving the emergency call at 8:41 p.m. Two fire engines from the Agios Nikolaos Fire Station were deployed to the scene and successfully brought the flames under control by 9:09 p.m. While the vehicle sustained extensive damage, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and to finalize the assessment of property damage. The police and fire service are working in cooperation to gather evidence, and the investigation remains ongoing to establish whether the fire was accidental or malicious in nature.
