Investigation into the bombing of Vadym Ermolaev's residence in Monaco
On the night of June 29, 2026, an incendiary device exploded at the Monaco residence of Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Ermolaev, causing serious injuries to Ermolaev, a woman, and a child. Four additional individuals required medical treatment for injuries caused by flying glass shards, as confirmed by government official Christophe Mirman. The device had been placed at the entrance of the property in a bag or package before the perpetrator fled the scene.
Authorities have since identified a female suspect, who allegedly holds a Cypriot passport and received 7,000 euros for carrying out the attack. Following the incident, investigators successfully tracked her escape route from Monaco to Ukraine. While early reports initially misidentified the suspect as a man wearing a black hat, current investigative efforts are now focused on the woman, who reportedly features a snake tattoo, and two unidentified men linked to the plot.
Injured victims were transported to the hospital in Nice for treatment. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to clarify the connections between the suspects and the logistics of the operation.
