Eurobank Cyprus introduces digital account opening via mobile app

On August 20, 2026, Eurobank Cyprus announced the launch of a new feature allowing customers to open savings or current accounts entirely through its mobile application. This process is designed to be completed in a few minutes, aiming to streamline digital banking services.

Users can select accounts in euros (EUR), US dollars (USD), or pounds sterling (GBP) to manage local and international transactions. The update includes the capability to issue a virtual debit card for digital wallets, with the option to request a physical card delivery. The digital service also extends to the "My Account 18–25" product, which provides free banking services for individuals aged 18 to 25. Furthermore, the application supports various features such as SEPA instant payments to facilitate easier money transfers.

This initiative serves as an expansion of Eurobank’s existing digital banking infrastructure. The bank intends for this functionality to simplify daily personal and business financial operations by reducing the need for in-person branch visits.
