School supply prices remain stable in Cyprus supermarkets

On August 20, 2026, Andreas Hatziiadamou, Executive Secretary of the Pancyprian Supermarkets Association, announced that prices for school supplies in supermarkets across Cyprus remain stable this year. Despite inflationary pressures observed in other consumer product categories, supermarkets have successfully maintained price levels to ensure affordability for all consumers.

To achieve this stability, supermarkets have strengthened their partnerships with suppliers and increased direct imports to reduce reliance on volatile markets. A recent market survey conducted by the Association confirms that large, medium, and small supermarkets are well-stocked with sufficient quantities of essential school items. According to Hatziiadamou, school bags are currently in highest demand, followed by notebooks and other stationery items.

This initiative comes as part of a broader effort to mitigate the financial burden on families during the back-to-school season. The Association emphasizes that the current supply chain strategy ensures that there are adequate options available to suit every budget and need as the new academic term approaches.
